First day of school.

My little girl is growing up way too fast. This week, she started preschool. I sat down with all the boys in her class individually and made sure they all understood that if they made any advances towards my girl that they'd have me to answer to. All threats were met with crying, so I think I got my point across.

This week, I saw the soundtrack of my life.

All thanks to a little trio known as RUSH! I can still remember the day I first heard them. I was in the 6th grade. My brother let me listen to a copy of 2112. It blew my mind. The music woke something inside of me. And ever since, I've been a fan. Their chronology of records have become the soundtrack for my life. No band has ever had as much of an impact on me than them. I mean, every kid dreams of being a lead guitarist or a singer or even a drummer in a band. But me, I wanted to be Geddy Lee, so I played bass. But, throughout all my years of being a fan, I was never able to see them live. Idaho rarely makes it on anyone's tour list. But Denver, Colorado sure does.

This week, I drove up into the mountains to, perhaps the most amazing music venue in the world, Redrocks Amphitheater.

And along with 10,000 other crazy fans had the night of my life. Unfortunately, my cell phone doesn't have a camera on it so I couldn't get any pictures. Fortunately, there's flickr, so here are some pictures of the show from other people.

**I move away from the mic to breath in.

They say miracles don't come around very often. Well, today must've been a rare occasion, because I stumbled upon one of the most miraculous events of our day. His name? Tay Zonday. His hit single? "Chocolate Rain." Is he serious? As a heart attack.

Now, the miracle of Chocolate Rain doesn't stop with the original. Oh no, like any true miracle, this is the gift that keeps on giving. While spoofs are being created by the truckload, here are a few of my personal favs.

"Going to cost me a fortune in dry cleaning."

The attention to detail in this one is amazing. Note the perfectly accurate head movements when he moves away from the mic to breathe in.

This just rules.

Have you Simpsonized yourself yet?

The agency I work for recently launched a new site for Burger King and the Simpson's Movie called, Simpsonize Me. It's usually too bogged down with traffic to work, but if you can get in, it's pretty entertaining. Here is the Simpson's version of yours truly.
